The Hiraya Foundation for Filipino-American Heritage Preservation, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed supporting communities in the preservation of cultural heritage, tradition, history, language, and craft.

Our Mission

The Hiraya Foundation shall spearhead the efforts of the Filipino-American Community in promoting and preserving Filipino heritage in the United States and in the Philippines and the important contributions of Filipinos to American society.

Our Vision

The Hiraya Foundation shall aspire to unite kababayan in the United States and in the Philippines and ecourage them to actively participate in efforts to protect, preserve, and promote their history, language, and culture by sharing their ideas, expertise, and resources towards the achievement of their shared goal of heritage conservation.

Our Five-Point Agenda

The organization's vision is further emboldened with a five-point agenda. (1) Proceeds will be used to support the local weaving sector through business management and technical skills training to pave the way for self-sufficiency. (2) The empowerment of weavers by extending safe spaces that bring culture and crafts into the limelight, resulting in an impactful social change. (3) Fostering meaningful dialogues between key players to spur the potential for professional innovation. In doing so, (4) Hiraya can champion for policies that will grow numerous industries, its sustainability as an intangible cultural heritage, and the protection of the main stakeholders—the artists and creatives themselves. (5) The organization also promotes the Philippine cultural masters and designers to different creative industries through cultural exchanges, facilitating the sharing of best practices that can be employed by stakeholders. Ultimately, these action points will help lead the path to Fil-Am heritage sustainability.

A Mesage from the
Chairman of the Board
Hiraya Foundation for Filipino-American
Heritage Preservation, Inc.

As an increasingly relevant socioeconomic demographic, we, more than four million strong Filipino-Americans, continually contribute to America’s progress and enrichment. With these opportunities, we are also indebted to our own cultural identity that has defined us as a people. Creating this Cultural Center will allow us to celebrate and preserve this heritage we can enjoy now and for future Filipino-Americans to come. The center will also become the stage on which we shall showcase our culture and promote multi-directional cultural exchanges both between the United States and the Philippines and among the various groups here in the tri-state area.
This is now the time to make it happen. In the spirit of filial patriotism, transparency and accountability, HIRAYA aims to funnel each and everyone’s concerted and focused efforts to realize that dream.
Mabuhay ang Pilipino!
